Random Country Generator
Pick a random country from every nation in the world. Filter by continent, generate up to 20 results, and copy instantly.
All continents selected.
How the math works
The filtered list is loaded into memory. The tool uses crypto.getRandomValues through secureRandInt to pick a uniform index. Every country in the active pool has the same chance of selection on every draw.

How to Use the Random Country Generator
Pick how many countries you want, choose which continents to include, and click Generate. The tool returns a random country from the matching pool. If you want a random country from anywhere in the world, leave every continent selected.
Set the count to 1 when you need a single answer, such as a travel destination or a quiz question. Set it up to 20 when you need a sample list for a classroom activity, a drawing contest, or test data.
Turn off Allow duplicates when you need a set of unique countries. This is useful for creating bingo cards, trivia rounds, or geography challenges where the same country should not appear twice. If the selected continents do not contain enough unique countries for your requested count, the tool warns you and asks you to adjust the filters.
Copy the results with one click. The copied text is a plain list of country names, ready to paste into a document, spreadsheet, chat, or quiz builder.
What Makes This Country Picker Fair
Every country in the active pool has the same chance of being selected. The tool does not weight large countries higher than small ones. It does not favor countries near the top of an alphabetical list. It does not repeat the last result to create false patterns.
The selection uses crypto.getRandomValues() from the Web Crypto API. This is the same cryptographically secure source of randomness used by the Random Number Generator, the Dice Roller, and every other tool on Random Generator Calc. The output is unpredictable and passes standard tests for statistical randomness.
For extra transparency, the tool shows the active continent filter and the number of matching countries before you generate. If only 20 countries match your filter and you request 10 unique results, you can see exactly why the draw has the odds it does.
Common Uses for a Random Country Generator
Geography quizzes. Teachers use the tool to pick countries for map-labeling drills, capital-city questions, and flag-matching games. Because the result is random, students cannot predict which country comes next.
Travel inspiration. Stuck choosing your next trip? Set a continent filter and generate one country. The tool removes decision fatigue and surfaces destinations you might not have considered.
Writing and worldbuilding. Writers and game designers use random countries as prompts for settings, character origins, and political backdrops. A randomly chosen country can anchor research and spark new story ideas.
Classroom games. Divide students into groups and assign each group a random country to research and present. The random assignment is fair because no student can influence the draw.
Data science and prototyping. Developers need realistic sample data for forms, charts, and test databases. Generate a list of random countries and paste it into a CSV or JSON file.
Board games and trivia nights. Replace a die roll or coin flip with a random country draw for team assignments, category selection, or tiebreakers. The wide pool makes every round different.
Random Country Generator by Continent
The continent filter lets you narrow the pool to a specific region. Generate a random European country for an EU-themed quiz, a random African country for a geography unit, or a random Asian country for a cuisine challenge. Combine continents for broader draws, such as Europe plus North America for a G7-inspired activity.
The filter updates the matching count in real time, so you always know how many countries are in the draw. This makes the tool useful for probability lessons: students can see how changing the sample space changes the odds.
Tips for Better Results
Generate several countries at once when planning a trivia set or a travel shortlist. It is faster than clicking repeatedly and gives you a set to compare.
Use the no-repeats mode for any activity where duplication would break the rules. If you need 50 unique countries, simply keep the default world pool and request up to 20 at a time, then generate again.
